Don’t Play With Your Food NY is the first in Melanie’s series exploring the visual intersection of art and food. Since Melanie is not a food photographer, she wanted to challenge herself to see food in a new way, keep each shoot simple, not styled, and unplanned. Melanie painted with a coal ash ice cream cone from Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream, she poured a Negroni from restaurant Prune onto a white canvas and she swirled a coup of champagne from Eleven Madison Park until it glowed.
